HI Y’ALL!
Last week was such an exciting one for My Life After Littles! It was our FIRST ever photo shoot! In honor of that and because these pictures hold a special place in my heart, I thought I’d share the day with all of you!
Before Littles, I would often help style or coordinate photo shoots in my career. It was something I always enjoyed doing but I would never have thought that I’d be doing one for myself one day!
Our family LOVES trying new restaurants together and although our choices after Littles are more casual and kid-friendly, we still try to go out once a week! I never had a photographer document the simple moments that can happen while out to eat together so, for our first shoot, I wanted to do just that. As luck should have it, my sister-in-law has been wanting to practice her photography and I was ecstatic when she agreed to come out with us to take pictures! She has such a talent and I love that we were able to be creative together. It’s something we had never done before! So, with my oldest at school (I wish she could have come too), I took my two youngest Littles and met my sister-in-law for breakfast at a place I’d been wanting to try, Elizabeth Street Cafe.
If you haven’t been here, it’s a MUST! Not only is the eclectic mix of Vietnamese and French fare DELICIOUS but take one look at the website and you will fall in love with its gorgeous decor and bright colors. I can’t wait to go back and take pictures inside. It was the perfect location for our day!
We all know how unpredictable Littles can be and we weren’t sure how long they’d last so, when we arrived, we immediately sat down on the bench out front and started snapping pictures. It just so happens that our first picture was my favorite! It was such a treat to be in one with my Littles where it actually turned out! A rare occasion to say the least.
It was such a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside on the restaurant’s cozy shaded patio. We ordered Nutella crepes, a breakfast bahn mi (something I had never had before) and of course my lifeline, coffee.
For me, the hardest part of going out to eat with Littles is entertaining them while you wait for your food to arrive. This day was no exception and we had to get creative with sunglasses…
Straws…
Chopsticks…
And for when things got a little too crazy…Ipads! I’m so not above that. Ha!
But once the meal arrived, everyone was happy! I mean, who wouldn’t be with all this delicious food?? Just looking at these pictures makes me want to go back to try something else on the menu!
I had one request for this photo shoot and that was for my sister-in-law to capture us AS WE ARE. No posing or changing how we acted because someone was taking our picture but just capturing the simple joys and sometimes challenges of a normal day in the life of our family. I’m grateful that my sister-in-law was able to capture just that and I am indebted to her for giving me snapshots of this breakfast with my Littles. So often, we moms are behind the camera capturing moments and rarely jump in front of the camera to experience them with our children. This medium has given me the opportunity to do just that and I’m happy to say that this is only the beginning!
It was such a pleasure! Loved spending time with you being creative, and playing around with my sweet nieces too! 💗
Me too!! We love having some extra time with Aunt Krid!

Thanks Amy! It was so special to be able to capture simple moments with the girls that I otherwise maybe would not have remembered!
